Restore Dirty Headlights in 3 Minutes with Toothpaste

Restore Headlight with Toothpaste in 3 Minutes

Yes, it’s frustrating.  Your headlights stay yellow and cloudy no matter how many times you go through the car wash.

So, what’s the solution.  Well, you can buy the “restoration kits” for upwards of $30-$50 or use something from your house (that you already have).  What’s the secret?  Toothpaste.

Apparently, toothpaste acts as an abrasive compound when rubbed on a headlight and takes off the yellow, oxidized stains.  According to auto YouTuber Chris Fix in the below video, it only takes a few minutes and works great.  It’s a super easy DIY project that anyone can do.

All you’ll need is some water, toothpaste, a toothbrush, glass cleaner, and paper towels (he uses colgate toothpaste but just about any toothpaste should work – just make sure that it has some abrasive component like baking soda in it).  Next, scrub the toothpaste over your stained headlight (do it a few times for best results), wash off, and then clean it with some glass cleaner.

Voila!! You’ll have a shiny headlight once again.
