Tiera Guinn’s got a bright future. She’s 22, about to graduate from M.I.T. (with a 5.0 average), and is already working for NASA. That’s right, a legit “rocket scientist” at age 22.
What Guinn’s doing for NASA is quite impressive. She’s a Rocket Structural Design and Analysis Engineer tasked with designing and analyzing space rockets. Basically, she makes sure that the engines work properly, produce the proper thrust, and are as efficient as possible. Partnering with Boeing, these rockets, according to Guinn, will be some of the largest (and most powerful) in history.
Analyzing things is nothing new for Tiera. She’s been doing it since she was very young. In fact, as she mentioned to WRBC News and The Huffington Post, her mother would make her organize grocery coupons and then calculate the exact cost (including sales tax) at the register. Pretty impressive for a 6 year old.
She’s also had an extremely supportive family. They let her choose her Middle School classes and allowed her to commute one hour to a high school that would best prepare her for college.
Now, as Tierra’s about the graduate from M.I.T., she’s an actual Rocket Scientist and has fulfilled her childhood dream. And, to top it off, she’s getting married.
Way to go Tierra!!! The sky (or rather Space) is the limit for you!
