Beach Walkers Stumble Upon Stuck Great White Shark

Great White Shark Rescue

Imagine stumbling upon a Great White Shark as you’re taking a relaxing walk on the beach. Well, that’s exactly what happened in Massachusetts.

Apparently, a Great White Shark beached itself while pursuing seagulls or some other sort of prey in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  From the video, it appears that the shark got stuck in a trough as the water receded back into the ocean.

Two (and eventually more) rescue works diligently come to the aid of the shark.  First, they pour water over the shark to help it hydrate and breath.  Next, after realizing the shark’s still alive, they carefully tie a rope around the shark’s tail and drag it into the ocean with the help of a small motor boat.

(In case you’re wondering, the rescue works had no intention of picking up the shark and carrying it to the ocean.  For one, carrying a scared Great White Shark over 15 feet would not be a good idea if they wanted to keep all of their body parts.  Second, the shark probably weighs over 400 pounds.)

Once in the ocean, the shark gets tagged and eventually is slowly escorted out to deeper waters.  The shark’s a little groggy at first but appears to recover as it moves.

This is definitely not your average day on the beach.
