Imagine having a baby 42,000 feet in the air on a commercial airline flight way before you were expecting. That’s exactly what happened to Nafi Diaby.
Nafi was travelling in West Africa on Turkish Airlines flight TK538 from Conarky (Guinea capital) to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso capital) when everything happened.
Apparently, the Turkish Airline crew noticed that Nafi was not looking well and in a lot of pain (contractions actually). Thinking quickly, the stewardesses and crew realized that Nafi was having a baby and came to the rescue.
Although a little more difficult than normal at 42,000 feet, the birth happened without a hitch. Everyone pitched in from holding Nafi’s hand to the actual delivery itself.
Nafi gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Kadiju Diaby, and everyone was full of smiles.

Upon landing at Ouagadoughou, Kadiju and Nafi were taken to a hospital and, according to the airline, both are doing fine.
